About Us

The Department of History and Archaeology has been established in the year 2015 with an objective to promote advanced study of History and Archaeology. The Department organizes field and on site visits for enabling students to acquire the first hand knowledge of related domains of knowledge. Only P.G. Course has been run by the department providing specialization in Archaeology and Ancient streams. The Department regularly conducts extracurricular activities for exposing students to Indian values and culture. The Department has organized the first National Conference on “Contemporary Issues in Indian History and Culture” and also edited a book on this theme. The Department has a vision to establish a museum of Science and Archaeology very soon.

Museum

The Department of History & Archaeology established a small Museum of Archaeology in the Department for enhance the knowledge of students related to the artifacts and archaeological remains. In this Museum we have Terracotta Pottery, Pottery Shards of pre, mature and late Phase of Harrapan civilization and pottery of PGW Culture. It displays numerous artifacts of the History in the form of charts and photographs.
