Yajñasālā

यज्ञो वै श्रेष्ठतमं कर्म

(Yajña is the best of all deeds  - Shatapatha Brahmana)

An initiator of specific energy field, vibrating into subtle and cosmic spheres, reverberating into the surrounding atmosphere, possessing bacteriostatic properties, is BPSMV’s YajñasālāBuilt on 16 major pillars representing respective deities, and another 08 pillars representing the four Vedas and four Dikpals,  it commemorates the martyr’s day of Bhagat Phool Singh Ji. Besides, at the location of the mandap, the ‘pyramid- shaped’ agni-kunda sublimates the gross and base samsakaras ── it is symbolic of burning our vices, ignorance, indolence, despair and synergizing ourselves with the light of Knowledge,  inspiration, alacrity, awareness, renewed zeal and Hope. Scientifically speaking, the Agnihotra (healing fire) of the yajña not only purifies the environment of the university with the smoke as a medium for circulation of aromatic substances in the vicinities but it also stands up to dictum , ‘Heal the atmosphere and the healed atmosphere will heal you !’

Therefore, this Yajñasālā  is a beautiful emblem of the fusion of modern education and ancient Indian wisdom and culture. The nature and function of these yajñas certainly uphold the spirit of empowering our girls with the vision and mission of the luminaries of BPSMV.

All Employees and students (Guru-śiș̉ya) perform yajña on various occasions, by chanting mantras ── especially the Gayatri and other Vedic Mantras which are blended together to achieve the holistic effects of physical, psychological and spiritual dimensions of human life. The students practically learn how these mantras bring clarity of thought, positivity, improve prāna (life energy) and reduce stress.
